Summer started...

Summer began and so did the fun.

We went to my mom's and the kids played in tents.

McKenna liked looking at the fire.

Cameron wanted to touch the fire. Which stressed me out.

Brooklynn and Caleb liked the fire as well.

Mr. Luke scared me so bad around the fire.

At least his dad was around him.

Grandpa Budd came out to join the fun. Grandma stayed inside though.

Luckily Cameron calmed down which made me feel better. Ryan was at work so it was all me watching these two.  Brooklynn ended up sleeping over with her cousins.

It was field day at school. Brooklynn waiting with all her friends at the bus stop.

The end of school came and we are so proud of how far Brooklynn and Cameron came. Cameron was just going to a co-op preschool and Brooklynn was in Kindergarten.

Zoo Night

We decided to go to the zoo on the opening night of the new exhibit Rocky Shores at Hogle Zoo.

They just loved it. It was pretty crowded, but they didn't want to leave.

One of the big Sea Otters.

We sat for so long just watching.

Love the Polar Bear too!

The giraffe was quite entertaining.

McKenna got a kick out of the monkeys.

Posing with the bears.

The giraffe was really hungary. He found a way to get to the bush! It was so funny.

Cameron loves the fake Elephant.

Fun times with the Polar Bear.

Allergist

The rashes kept continuing and we were happy to finally get into the Allergist.

They did the back scratch test and we had to wait. She was so brave.

It wasn't anything extreme, but she did react to eggs, fish and a small reaction to wheat. I was so sad. Wheat and eggs????

Poor girl's whole face flushed up with the test.

They decided to do a blood test to see how badly her allergy was. The blood test came back really good. It showed such a small allergy. The doctor had us test it out. It seemed that she was okay with wheat. (thank heavens), but she still was having a reaction with anything that had egg baked in it. He had us take eggs completely out of her diet (although she hasn't had straight eggs yet, but cakes, cookies, corn dogs and anything else with egg.) Since then we have rarely seen a break out. We went back recently to retest and it was all almost negative, just a small reaction. The Allergist said that some people have no reaction on their back, nothing shows up in the blood work, but if they eat it they have a huge reaction. We are going to continue to avoid eggs and any kind of fish. In another year when McKenna is 3 we will do the taste test and see if she has any kind of reaction that way. She is too young now to tell us and we can't do it at home. We will be at the hospital and have the Epipen ready.

Memorial Day

Brooklynn and I went to my Grandma Dennis' grave on Memorial Day. She passed away when I was just 17 years old, on January 2, 2000. The next morning our next door neighbor passed away. Only 2 weeks later my Great Grandma Stout passed away as well. It was a shock to our family.

In November 2005 we had just gotten approved for adoption and were waiting for "the call". I had a dream that my Grandma Dennis was next to a baby bassinet. It was white and frilly. She said, "She's waiting for you." The next day I talked to the birth mom of Brooklynn. She was born 3 weeks later.

I am so thankful that my grandma took care of Brooklynn until I could.

There was a nice man at the cemetary that took a picture of us.

After that we went to the Oldroyds to celebrate and BBQ for Memorial day. My niece Katie did some art work for us! She didn't have the real stuff, but just used a pen.

I got a Peacock!

Brooklynn chose a flower!

My present...

Part of my Mother's Day gift was a new Kitchen Island. I have been searching for the one that I liked for so long and none seemed just right. Finally we found it at Target.

Brooklynn liked it and made a little store counter.

I just love it. I still need stools for it though.

Date with Cam

Went on my date with Cameron to Zupas.

It was so yummy!

What a handsome date I have.

We enjoyed every minute we had together and he was so good.
