Grandma Budd- 1924-2012

Sunday Evening September 23, 2012 I got a call that my Grandma wasn't going to make it much longer. We rushed over to be there and on the way I got a second call that we were too late. She had passed away.

I grew up living with my grandparents. I have always been close to them, in turn my kids became very close to them as well. In the last few years especially I had come over at least once a week and sometimes even 2 or 3 times. My grandma is the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful, giving, loving, non-judgemental, funny, amazing person I have ever met. In the last few years I have spent a lot of time learning about my grandparents for their story that I am writing for them. I have found that whether nature or nurture I have some qualities of my grandma and I am thankful for that.

Grandma has touched so many lives, she has been a friend to those who need someone, she has loved for those alone, she has blessed so many lives. I love you grandma and I think of you every day.

Budd Family Reunion- August 2012

We had a Budd Family Reunion up in Heber. There were cute little cabins and fun things to do. Ryan and I didn't stay overnight, but we went to see everyone.

My mom brought Grandma and Grandpa up to see everyone and say hi. Of course Grandma and Celeste were happy to be with each other.

The kids favorite thing was the firepit.

My cousin Jessica's boys on the left with my brother Josh's son Zack on the right. They all look so much a like.
It is always fun being with the Budds.

More end of Summer Fun! Summer 2012

I took Brooklynn and Caleb to the Health and Safety Fair. There was lots to see and do. They got to meet one of the Pilots that works with Ryan. They also got to see some real dinosaur bones, do an experiment and more...

FHE: Upcycling Crayons and we talked about saving the planet and then watched The Lorax!

Ryan and my Dentist Office moved locations and so they had a big fair. Ryan had to work so Terra came with me to take the kids. They had a lot of fun. Ate a lot of junk food, painted faces, jumped in bounce houses and played games! We wore them right out!

We went to visit Ryan at work one night. The kids Love going to see the helicopter.

Of course they have to sit inside and try on the helmet. Grandma and Grandpa came with us to see the helicopter for the first time too!

Towards the end of August we had a nice summer rain. So the kids had to play inside. (one of my favorite pictures of them)

Princess McKenna reading!

All boy Cam playing cars.

Big Sis Brooklynn taking care of little ones.  So like all their personalities.

It was getting hard to keep thinking of new activities for the kids. We were all definately ready for school to start.

So we did some art!

Of course they loved every minute of it.

We went to watch another one of Cameron's bike races.

Love supporting lil' bro!

Of course each time he is getting better and better!

He got another trophy.

Another FHE rolled around and so we made fun Fish Rice Krispy Treats, read our new Aquarium book and watched Finding Nemo.

We also played a game with Daddy before he went to work.

Kids LOVE the Merry go Round at the Zoo!

I've got a bunch of monkeys with me!

Family Home Evening- Summer 2012

The kids LOVE the book Goodnight Moon. So for FHE we decided to act it out.

It was so funny. They did such a good job. It is crazy that all 3 kids practically have the story memorized.

The next week we kept on the story theme and they had different ideas to write a story.
Then they each drew one out.

The story was about a Knight named Randolf who goes to school and gets bad grades.

They drew pictures first and then told me what to write.

Ta Da! A story by the Oldroyd kids! Look for it in book stores.

Cameron's Bike Race

We decided to try Cameron in some bike racing. Before it starts the older kids practice on the track. We had to wait awhile until Cameron's race started.

Tyler came with us to check it out.

Cameron did awesome! He loved it.

We can't wait until he tries it out on a pedal bike.

Going up the hills were tough!

Winner Winner- Chicken Dinner!
