Brooklynn's {half} Birthday Party!

Since Brooklynn's birthday is December 28th it is a hard time to have a birthday party with friends. So we decided to do a half birthday.

Brooklynn invited some of her closest friends in the neighborhood to have a "late" over.

Brooklynn got a lot of fun gifts.

Each girl got a little gift bag with some treats and a necklace.

They had fun playing the rest of the night.

24th Celebration and FHE

We had a family thing and talked about Pioneers and made icecream the old fashioned way. They kids had a lot of fun rolling it back and forth.

Then the kids watched a movie with their cousins.

It was a fun night!

Olympics 2012

In honor of the Olympics we had a fun week watching and celebrating along with the games. Each night we made a dinner from a different country and even had a good old American hot dog.

To end the week off the kids all made their own gold medals. They are my winners!

Our hummingbirds

Late one night Ryan discovered an hummingbird in our tree sitting on a nest. We had one guess for why....

BABIES!

We made some home made necter for our hummingbird. The kids names her Honey!

She was such a dedicated mommy. We just loved her. She was very protective as well. If you got too close she came zoomping around you to scare you off.

Whenever she would fly away to get food we took the chance and would go in and take some pictures.

But she didn't go too far, she always came back to protect her babies.

Finally one day they were born. They were the cutest things ever. They didn't look like hummingbirds at all. It was the craziest thing. We weren't sure if they were a boy and girl or two girls or two boys, but since one was a little bigger Brooklynn thought it was a boy. She named the babies Pebbles and BamBam.

See their cute little beaks sticking out under Honey? So adorable.

As they got bigger they started to look more like hummingbirds.

They got bigger and braver and started to fly. Eventually one day they flew away and never came back. We were really sad, but we enjoyed them for the month that we had them. We will never forget our little bird babies and mommy. Honey, Pebbles and BamBam, We love you!
